Jessica, Obsidian Trainer, NASM-Certified Personal Trainer

Jessica is a NASM certified personal trainer and has been utilizing Obsidian with for the past 7 years. Being active has always been a way life for her. As a young girl she danced and played tennis competitively through high school. As an adult she added running, biking, and swimming as part of training for a triathlon. Though about 4 years ago her ability to stay active became more challenging as she started developing chronic headaches and migraines. Pain has become a part of her daily life, and she recognizes she took her healthy, active body for granted. Jessica has since found that her greatest relief comes from working daily to improve her health, and has learned that her workouts not only provide temporary relief, they also help with her emotional well-being as she battles chronic pain. Her passion and joy for fitness has thrived and she has added to it a determination to help her clients maintain their health to help with life’s challenges. Jessica understands how difficult it is to get to the gym and stay committed, and she specializes in providing support to help you maintain your fitness goals!

Catherine, Master Obsidian Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor

Catherine is a creative, free spirit with an infectious zest for life. She loves people and thrives off of helping others have fun. She enjoys motivating others and seeing them reach new limits. Catherine loves being active- a competitive gymnast, soccer player at Highland High School, water and snow skier and now fitness instructor. A dedicated mother of four, she loves family and recognizes the important role fitness plays in helping her be a better mother and find that ever-elusive balance in life. “Having a physical outlet has completely improved my overall sense of well-being,” she says. Catherine attended the University of Utah and served an LDS mission in Argentina. She is a freelance makeup artist, first learning the ropes with MAC for 3 years. She also loves remodeling and interior design. In fact, her first role at Obsidian Fitness was as our interior designer. She was so inspired by the Obsidian team and Obsidian approach that she jumped onboard, certifying in Obsidian and BODYCOMBAT™ and – as she puts it- “changing everything for the better- family, friends, fitness and balance.”

Amber is a NASM certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor and studio manager. She loves anything active, and most days off you will find her in the outdoors, climbing, running, hiking, kayaking and anything that can lead to an adventure. She thrives in her love for fitness and sharing all that she knows with others. Fitness has been her outlet, it’s where she learned of her power, to never play small and to go after what she wants. She has a strong belief in choosing healthy over perfect and remembering that no matter where you are in your journey, you are beautiful. Fitness is healing, it can teach you to love yourself, it shows you what you are capable of, it gives us strength and shows us that strength. Fitness is so much more than physical, it is mental. She uses this mentality to help her clients create a lasting feeling of confidence and beauty.

She has been in management positions for the last 10+ years and has excelled but wanted more. Becoming a fitness instructor fulfilled the desire to do something she loves every day while helping others and gave her a way to create her own definition of freedom. Now she lives the best of both worlds, is able to continue gaining experience in the procedural responsibilities, while also learning and growing with every new client.
